Every person who prospers should remember to thank God. That Special Touch In today’s Gospel, Jesus wills to enter into the grief and pain of this man. The Leper’s small human triumph that got him near Jesus opens to the best triumph of all --- the most amazing grace: Jesus reached out and touched him. Jesus broke the ancient Levitic rules and He knew He broke them. Jesus couldn’t resist this man’s desperate boldness and great faith. According to the law, at that moment, Jesus also was unclean. But the leper was clean; he was a leper no more. He could go home and join the circle of his family. But first, mindful of the law, Jesus sent this ex-leper to the priests to perform the prescribed rituals. And Jesus asked the man to keep this a secret. That was asking too much, of course. The man announced the good news of his cure far and wide. He can be forgiven his inappropriate behavior. He was delirious with joy. Word of God’s compassion spread and the people came to Jesus “from all sides.” They wanted to keep in touch. “I am Blessed!” God has inspired me to be an instrument in the lives of prisoners. This call allows me to share God’s special tough. Bible verses to reflect: Sirach 38:1-14, Sickness & Medicine God Messenger For more information, please contact Deacon Joe Kushner, Parish Office
