Did You Know ...
Written by Fr. Greg

... that last Thursday the City Council approved our  'Conditional Use Permit' for the construction of our Memorial Prayer Garden and Columbarium? This means that we can proceed with signing the contract with Mickelson & Ray, Inc. of Phoenix, to provide the first two columbaria, each with 40 niches, for our Memorial Prayer Garden. Tom Felix and crew will be pouring the bases for the pre-fabricated columbaria on the east end side of the Memorial Prayer Garden, as well as the base of the Bavarian-style, 'Wayside Crucifix' being crafted by Gene Mundt.

We will also begin ordering the 'memorial bricks' which will pave the cruciform walk around the fountain! Tom Felix will also be pouring the footing for a large tree well/bench, which will be sited between the church and the Memorial Prayer Garden. There is a great deal of preliminary work to be done before the delivery of the first two columbaria in May - if you are interested in volunteering to help with this project, please let Gene Mundt or the Parish Office know of your interest!

The Arizona bishops are calling on government authorities to defend the most vulnerable: the unborn, children, the elderly and immigrants.

They affirmed this in a statement released today by the Arizona Catholic Conference, in which they said that their "prayers are with all of our elected state representatives as they face very difficult decisions on a number of important issues."
